General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL196) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human ADAD2, targeting the amino acid region 244–583 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human ADAD2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. ADAD2 (Adenosine Deaminase Domain Containing 2) is a testis-enriched RNA-binding protein that belongs to the adenosine deaminase–like family, although it lacks confirmed catalytic RNA editing activity. Instead of functioning as a deaminase, ADAD2 is thought to act as an RNA-binding regulatory factor involved in post-transcriptional gene regulation during spermatogenesis. It is predominantly expressed in male germ cells, where it is implicated in meiosis and the maturation of haploid spermatids. ADAD2 likely contributes to the control of mRNA stability, localization, or translation, thereby ensuring proper temporal expression of genes required for germ cell development. Genetic and expression studies suggest that disruption of ADAD2 function can impair fertility due to defects in spermatogenic progression. Overall, ADAD2 is considered an important germ cell–specific regulator of RNA metabolism essential for normal male reproductive development.
CABT-BL196 is suitable for use in IHC (1:50–1:500) application.
CABT-BL196 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
