Product Background
Gene Summary
CDC5L (Cell Division Cycle 5 Like) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CDC5L include renal dysplasia and cystoisosporiasis. Among its related pathways are Gene Expression and mRNA Splicing - Major Pathway. GO annotations related to this gene include poly(A) RNA binding and chromatin binding. The protein encoded by this gene shares a significant similarity with Schizosaccharomyces pombe cdc5 gene product, which is a cell cycle regulator important for G2/M transition. This protein has been demonstrated to act as a positive regulator of cell cycle G2/M progression. It was also found to be an essential component of a non-snRNA spliceosome, which contains at least five additional protein factors and is required for the second catalytic step of pre-mRNA splicing.
Antigen Description
The protein encoded by this gene shares a significant similarity with Schizosaccharomyces pombe cdc5 gene product, which is a cell cycle regulator important for G2/M transition. This protein has been demonstrated to act as a positive regulator of cell cycle G2/M progression. It was also found to be an essential component of a non-snRNA spliceosome, which contains at least five additional protein factors and is required for the second catalytic step of pre-mRNA splicing. Note=A chromosomal aberration involving CDC5L is found in multicystic renal dysplasia. Translocation t(6;19)(p21;q13. 1) with USF2. Cell division cycle 5-like protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CDC5L gene. The function about CDC5L antigen include DNA binding; RNA binding; protein binding; protein domain specific binding.
Pathway
Spliceosome, organism-specific biosystem; Spliceosome, conserved biosystem; Spliceosome, 35S U5-snRNP, organism-specific biosystem; Spliceosome, Prp19/CDC5L complex, organism-specific biosystem.
